Do you or your client have a Yamaha XS650 that needs new intake boots? Over the course of time the “Original Equipment Manufacturer” (OEM) parts from Yamaha eventually become “No Longer Available” (NLA).  Although Yamaha has discontinued the intake manifolds for the 1975-1979 XS650 (B/C/D/E/F Models), there is still a quality offering on the market today.  K&L Supply/TourMax 11-4210 has the intake boots for your XS650 sold in a kit.

Here is our 5 point rundown:

  1. The kit fits the 1975-1979 XS650B, XS650C, XS650D, XS650E, XS650F  “standards” as well as the 1974 TX650.
    1. — It does NOT fit the later model years such as the XS650S Special. See K&L 11-6239 for these later models. Additionally it does not fit the early XS-1 and XS-1B models.
  2. deems these to be sourced from the original equipment manufacturer to Yamaha, made by Arai Seisakusho Co, Ltd of Japan (ARS).
  3. Since these are original equipment replacements, they are designed for the stock Mikuni BS38 38mm CV carburetors.
  4. It is sold as a kit and includes the LEFT and RIGHT side manifolds as well as the two gaskets. It does not include new clamps to secure the carburetor.

Carburetor Intake Boot/Manifolds From K&L Supply

K&L Supply has a large assortment of carburetor holders, which also go by the names “carb boot”, “carb flange” or “intake manifolds”. These parts sit in between the carburetor and engine cylinder and often need replacement from cracking or tearing over time. We’ve started to document these parts in detail as we get our hands on them. The kits are often packaged in the TourMax branded boxes and many are sourced from OEM manufacturers such as ARS and KOYO. We’ll do our best to identify which ones are likely genuine sourced parts and provide detailed information.  Besides detailed photos, we’ll input product dimensions, OEM references as well as additional model applications the manufacturer may not have updated in their catalogs.  At we want to provide you with as much information as possible before making that purchase or preparing to service a customers vehicle.

You can find details on these items here:

What is

You found us on the interwebs, we are humbled by your presence! Well, now that we have your attention let us tell you a bit about and the purpose of this site.

What?: Our goal is to provide valuable information not usually found or documented by parts manufacturers. We do this so the end consumer, mechanics and retailers have all the necessary information they need to make to make an accurate and well informed purchase. We’ll make sure to provide original product photos, country of origin, dimensions and most importantly model application info.

Why?: is here to help you. We have been active in the business side of the industry and have seen a lot. Often the information on service parts are non-existent, or generic in the form a of “feed”.  This “feed” information is shared across hundreds if not thousands of online retailers making product descriptions seem the same. We hope to do better.

Who?: We are just a bunch of crazies, crazy about motorcycle and ATV parts. You can maybe even call us service parts nerds, we’ll take it as a compliment.

When?: Our team will document parts in detail as frequently as we can (we do have day jobs you know).

P.S.  We don’t sell anything at but will provide purchase links to trusted retailers and partners for the parts we discuss and document. In some cases me may make a small commission from these partners to help support this site.

OK, enough with the serious stuff, here are some bike photos from the recent 2016 INTERMOT show in Cologne Germany we attended.
